As we reach the midpoint of our career, most of us find ourselves asking whether or not it's time for a change. Sometimes we contemplate internal moves to increase our influence. Other times we consider making significant changes like changing industries, going from for-profit to non-profit, or starting our own business.

On this panel discussion, you will hear from leaders and experts who either have made mid-career changes themselves or support others in doing so.

Our panelists will discuss questions like these:

  • What are the risks and challenges of making a mid-career change? What are the potential opportunities and rewards?

  • How do you prepare for a career change? What steps do you take to ensure success?

  • What resources are available for support?

  • How do you tell your professional story to support your desired change? If you were part of a downsize or a layoff, how does that affect your story?

  • What tools are most relevant? Resume? CV? Linked In? Other?

  • If you made a change, what advice do you have for others? What surprises did you encountered?

  • What happens if someone makes a big mid-career move then feels as if it was a misstep or mistake?

  • What have been your best practices for entering a new organization at the mid or senior level?
